Vision Programming
The positioning of the torch during programming is calculated by the laser weld tracking sensor, reducing in this way process time and operators’ required skills for task performance.
Seam Finding
The laser weld tracking sensor finds the right teach points of the welding parts before the weld in order to compensate the part deviation. While robot is moving to get into welding position, laser weld tracking sensor detects the key points to enhance this welding process (avoiding the need of the operator to position the torch on the welding point).
Seam Tracking
The programming of complex shapes is a consuming task since usually, most of the teaching points have to be marked in first place and the seam tracking has to be done manually and precisely. With the seam tracking solution, just teaching the starting and the end point of the seam is enough, for the laser weld tracking sensor perfectly detects seam shape any possible variations and can easily adapt the welding to these conditions.
The laser weld tracking sensor for steel cage welding uses a laser to irradiate the surface of the weld seam to form a laser light band, which is received and imaged by a high-definition camera. By algorithmic processing, the three-dimensional features of the weld seam are transformed into structured information, including welding joint coordinates, misalignment, gaps, etc. This information is transmitted to the robot controller, providing the robot with the required trajectory and process parameters for welding, guiding the robot to weld or correct workpiece deviations in real-time, and achieving perfect welding work. Compared to other solutions, laser seam tracking has the advantages of non-contact, high accuracy, fast speed, and good adaptability.
